The Holidays are Ruining Everything!

I don't want to sound like I am complaining and surely I don't mean to put blame elsewhere but, really the holidays are ruining everything. From taking time out of my busy schedule to entertain, be entertained, shop, wrap, clean--the chores and activities are beyond doubled and it is taking time from the gym. In addition to the time I am losing at the gym I am being tempted by rich desserts, cocktails and delectable appetizers and full meals. I try to tell myself I am getting a workout while shopping but we all know that is not the same as walking on a treadmill or elliptical. It definitely can't compare to Zumba-but I haven't started that so I guess there is no need to compare anything to Zumba. My upcoming plans at the gym do include Zumba and I truly look forward to watching the weight fall off once I get started. For now I need to be stronger and watch out for the bakers, chefs and most importantly the bartenders. Just one more week until I can return to normalcy. I know the new year is coming but it is just one night of drinking that I have to worry about, I think I can do that. Let me take that back--I know I can do that.

  2. The holidays are like vistors. You can't wait for them to get here, you have so much fun when they arrive, but you are really glad it is over so you can get back to normal. Although the holidays are not officially over the day after Christmas we can get back to normal for at least a week. Then it is just one day.
Today I am heading off to the gym and praying I eat right. Why is this so difficult?

  4. Ok, come on Mary. What's the start to the new year going to be?? I just texted my trainer to go Monday and Friday instead of Tues and Thurs so Hayle can go with me. Then, I'll go on my own Tues and Thurs. SO, 4 days a week. I mean, Carol showed me up a bit, she is 71 and goes 4 times every week! Jerk! I mean, an inspiration. And healthy eating. I made lentil and sausage soup last night. Some kind of chicken and salad tonight!
    What about you??

  5. Somehow you keep getting stuck on a post--once you comment. I did post about my Zumba class. I am working that into my workout routine. I have my trainer once or twice a week. Zumba 4 times and then I am going to start yoga. Look at Lori's arms and back and stomach. She has never lifted weights and she does not run, jog, aerobics or anything--at least not on a regular schedule. Yoga is good for you and really tones you up. It is also good for balance. Sometimes my trainer makes me lift weights on one foot and I have so much trouble maintaining my balance. I definitely plan to incorporate yoga. Plus that is something I will be able to do forever .
